Fishing

The River Tweed is famous throughout the world for its Salmon, Sea-Trout and Grilse fishing.

Sale and Partners manage four fishing lets on the Tweed; Including Dryburgh, Tweedhill, Pedwell and Upper North Wark.

Fishing, with fish from 4lbs to 30lbs. The majority of nets were removed from the river in 1988 and it is expected that catches will continue to improve.

The season runs from February 1st to November 30th.

No refunds will be given on fishing charges due to adverse weather or water conditions.

The ghillies decision is final in all matters including safety aspects, which relate to these fisheries. In conditions of high water/a rising river and/or high winds, it will be left for the ghillie to decide if it is safe to use boats or to fish.

Fly only – 1 to 15 February and 14 September to 30 November.

All sections of the Tweed Angling Code (and any amendments) are adopted by the Beats and must be observed strictly by rods fishing the water. This includes the conservation measures contained in the 5 Year Spring Salmon Conservation Programme.

Rods will be asked to sign a Gyrodactylus Salaris Declaration as part of biosecurity for this beat and give it to the Head Ghillie of the Beat before fishing.

Payment for fishing must be made at the time of booking - otherwise we reserve the right to re-let. No reservation will be made without full payment.
